New look for a mudroom

I am participating in this!

ASPTL

So on my trip to Scott's Antique Market I didn't find the bench I was looking for.  I actually didn't realize it was like REAL antiques.  So, the prices were quite high.  The only antique markets I have ever been to were very affordable.  My favorite is Queen of Hearts Antiques located in Alpharetta and Buford.  So joke was on me.  But that's ok.  My mom and I had a great time and saw some beautiful pieces.  I did find a few fun things from their outside tent vendors.  So I know this isn't a normal mudroom look, but what do you think?

Because I couldn't find a bench I started looking at baskets.  So I found these 2 iron baskets for $9 each and decided to hang them below our jackets and such.  I am looking for some cool door knobs to hang them from.  We saw some at the antique market but whoohoo were they pricey!  I think I'll try Hobby Lobby.  I love the clear glass knob look like this one from Anthropologie.  Hobby Lobby, or HobLob as my friend Katie calls it, will definitely have more affordable prices.  But I just can't help looking at Athropologie:)

Very cute! Love the doorknob idea! The Anthropologie nearest to me has a big clearance section in the back where remanant cabinet knobs and other odds and ends are super cheap. Since you only need a couple, there might be a great find!

Love the look Beth!! Sorry Scotts was not what you thought. I really want to go there sometime. Would you recommend it? Did your mom find anything? Gotta love the Hob Lob!

Yeah it was definitely worth going. There were some absolutely gorgeous pieces that I was admiring. Lots of gorgeous antique chairs and such. I was drooling:) My mom almost bought some! So yes, I do recommend going. Just be prepared to spend a pretty penny or just admire.

Good solutions! I think that door knobs would also make for creating a fun coat rack too!

LOVE the baskets! I've picked up a few old wire freezer baskets lately, and I love your idea of hanging them!

it's perfect! i'll be making a DIY mudroom in our new house soon, and i just may steal your idea for baskets & doorknobs- i'm not too handy with the mitre saw just yet, so making my own locker or bench is not in the cards!
thanks for sharing!

I love the basket idea. Very fresh, and it'll keep clutter from piling up on the floor. Great job.

I love the baskets! So fun. Did you think Scott's was worth going to? I live about an hour and half away and didn't want to make the trek if it was crazy expensive. Was it pretty big with lots of vendors?

Hi there! Thanks for visiting my blog and sharing this idea. I like it! Super cute and very affordable. Thanks again - I may just try to figure out a way to use it. Have a great weekend!

Hey Beth,

I can't exactly picture what you are going to do with the door knobs but you might want to try Urban Outfitters. Their apartment section normally has cheap old door knobs that they use as curtain tiebacks. They aren't traditional door knobs though but if you are just interested in the look it should work.

Hi there, I have been struggling with my living room entry forever! I Can't put a bench or cubby because it would block my heater. I love this look-great job. Any idea where I could find these baskets?
