Dining Room Drapes

Last night my sister and her family came over and we had so much fun!  She helped me (read: she sewed for me) finish sewing my dining room drapes!  We had done the large ones on the side a few months ago, but still needed to finish the ones for the large middle window.

So here is the before.  The room definitely needed some drama and I think this fabric is just the right thing!

And the After!

ALL DONE!

We had a little trouble getting the middle drapes up because of the corners.  But, my sister is a genius and decided we should cut 2 slits in the back to "sew" the poles through.  It totally worked!

I have a TON of this fabric left over so I plan to use it somehow one day:)  Maybe on the back porch to recover an outdoor couch?  Maybe save it for a rainy day project?

Here's a litle snapshot of my nieces having a good time while my sister and I crafted away.  They ran circles around us and had a blast!

After last night, my sister had a great idea!  She and I can do this once every 2 weeks while the guys watch sports and the girls play house!  We can then share our easy, inexpensive crafts!  She is talking me into getting a sewing machine for Christmas.  I think she is winning this battle.  I need to learn to sew if I enjoy DIY projects so much :)
Stay tuned for some adorable clothes my sister made for her cute girls!

Is this Dining room in a separate room? Ours is in the kitchen, and I'm debating whether or not to put curtains up.
We have windows similar in shape to yours (cornered) but they are short windows instead of long. How do you feel about curtains IN the kitchen? I don't know...

@stacy I have curtains in my kitchen too. I think curtains on any window complete a room. You could still do them long so that they are a little more dramatic.

this is the post where you can see them.

Your curtains look Fab!! I really like the print on the fabric.

I really want to learn how to sew. It is on my super long list of "things to learn someday".

Those drapes are amazing. That black and white fabric is to.die.for. And your nieces are cutie-patooties :o) Love the outfits your sis did up for them...and I have a Gracie too, but she's 15. They grow up too fast!
peace.
