Did you know that cheap drapes can be made into a bed skirt? Yep, that's what I did. Here's why. MRP and I registered for these green drapes and ended up not really knowing where to put them. Because really, let's face it. No one knows what they really need until a few years into marriage and you've defined your styles. So we tried to return them because we didn't really like them on the windows. Well, the drapes had been "pennied out" and were only worth 1 cent. I was pretty sad because I didn't know what to do with them. But, we kept them anyway.
While hanging out with my sister she casually mentioned that I could just tuck the drapes under our mattress and use them as a bedskirt! GENIUS I tell you!! This was 3 years ago and to this day, I have not been tempted to change it. It was the best idea yet!
MR.P and I are headed to the lake with some friends. They are 25 weeks pregnant and I CANNOT WAIT to meet this baby!! It's soo exciting. Thankful to have some time with them this weekend. They live in Nashville, so we don't get much time with them. Looking forward to our weekend!!

I have never tried this but I have used tablecloths as drapes before! Must be no-sew for me to do it!
I think I have a pretty good idea who you're going to the lake with! Tell them I said hi!
That is genius Beth! Because I'm new to this whole home decor realm...where is a good place to get inexpensive drapes? We have a lot of windows at our new place, and I know nothing about window treatments...Please help!
Oh and have a fabulous weekend at the lake!
What a great idea!! I love it :) SO smart and saved you money...both wonderful things. Have a great weekend at the lake!
You should post a picture so we can see exactly what you are talking about. :)
Have a fun weekend!
How funny! I would love to see a picture. Have a great weekend!
'Hope the giver doesn't read your blog! ;) Seriously, though, this is a great idea!
Yes, picture please!! would love to see how it looks...and...have a wonderful rest of the weekend!
Good idea! I love tips like that one :) I used a king straight bedsheet for one of our rooms. The great part about panels and sheets is you can fold them to the length you need and hide all the clutter under the beds! hahah
Have fun at the lake... so jealous!
What a great idea! But...what? No picture. :)
