Live to 100

I fell in love with this sign from My Sweet Savannah's Etsy shop.

MR.P and I say this to each other all the time.  I never want to live a day without him.
Sadly, I know thats not going to happen.  Then we have to remember that we should be relying on the Lord for everything instead of our spouse.  Tough lesson to learn.  Nontheless, this is a sweet sign that really shows how much we love each other :)

Annslee's Savvy Silhouettes!

This past Saturday MR.P and I went to Dahlonega with his mom and sisters.  We walked around and enjoyed all the cute antique stores as well as great fellowship.  Here is our documentation of the event :)

While we were there my sweet friend Katie emailed me pictures of her friend Anslee's Savvy Sillhouettes.  I think they are really cute and creative!  She sells them for $10 each.  Aren't they just adorable?

I love the contrasting fabrics together on this one.

Wouldn't it be cute to get one of your house numbers?  I'd love to get mine!

She has a great collection.  You should definitely check Anslee's stuff out.

Here is her contact info if you are interested!

DIY Projects from Blog Friends!

I asked a few days ago for y'all to post your best DIY project.  I couldn't choose just one, so here they are!

Abs + Husband @ Tales and Trials redid their dining room and added Wainescotting!

Before:

After:

Adding Wainescotting definitely adds value to your home plus gives you such a clean and crisp look!  Great job Tales and Trials

Sherri over @ Design to Shine bought some shutters for $1 and turned them into a great wall hanging.  Now $1 is totally an impressive find!

Before:

After:

They look great Design to Shine!  Great job turning someone else's junk into great decor.

Cindy over @ Cottage Instincts redid some brass lamps.

Before:

After:

They look great with the textured black spraypaint!
Then she added great lampshades with some ribbon to accent!

Perfect end to a great project Cottage Instincts!

Thanks girls for showing me your projects.  They all looked great!  I think there is so much value in looking at each other's projects.  It helps me to look around my house and see what I can redo or reuse instead of running out to the store for that perfect piece.  Decorating can be an idol for me, so it's best that if I am itching to do a project I just see what I already have.  I pray that through our blogs we are able to encourage each other to do just that :)

A Little Bit Vintage

I was so excited when I found out I won my 3rd giveaway!  Rachel over @ A Little Bit Vintage was so sweet and gave me this awesome Sugar mold, some bath and body works products, a frame she made, and a sweet little necklace.

I absolutly adore the sugar mold.  I already had one for my kitchen table, but wanted one for my dining room table as well.  I was pretty lucky that it was yellow as are the walls in my dining room.  I wasn't quite sure what the dining room needed to give it sort of a vintage touch, but how lucky was I that this was the perfect fit!?

Thanks again A Little Bit Vintage!  I just love it all!

P.S. I didn't make this

But the girl on this blog sure did!  She is so talented and creative!!  It's practically free to make!  If you have a glass bottle or cans left over from soup then you're halfway there.  All you need is puffy paint, which is probably less than $2.00, and Matte white spraypaint.  Easy as pie!  Next time I make soup I'll have to try this out!  Our Man Room could use a few accessories here and there.  I might try black spraypaint instead then put some pretty red flowers in them to accent all the UGA stuff we've got in there!

Happy Thursday!  Anyone have fun plans this weekend?  MR.P and I have a wide open Saturday (UGA has an off week) and I am soo looking forward to doing nothing.  Sunday is a different story.  We have nursery at 8:30, church, family day with his work, then a bday party for my little sister!  Busy, busy, but all soooo fun!

EDIT:  What about doing old frames like this?  That would definitely be something fun to add to a frame!

Wednesdays for Wyatt

Found this on a blog of a girl I went to college with but didn't get to know her very well.  Wish I had!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s official... Today is our very first post for Wednesdays for Wyatt! Thank you for coming over and participating.

It’s quite simple to participate. All you have to do is copy and paste this post on your blog, and come back here to link up with MckLinky! Once you do that, your all set to win this first ever Wednesday’s for Wyatt giveaway. Let make this a huge success, shall we?

For those of you who are not familiar with my family and what we are trying to achieve, here’s a brief run down...

Our son Wyatt was diagnosed with a fatal condition at our 18 week ultrasound, but chose to carry him to term. We waited to meet our son with love, all the time praying we would get to see him alive.

On June 1, 2009, Wyatt made his way into the world by c-section. To our amazement he had a faint heartbeat and was breathing! He died two minutes later, but I’ve clung to the two minutes my son and I breathed the same air since his passing.

Upon calling to get a copy of Wyatt’s birth certificate, I found out he was listed as a stillborn. You would assume it was a mistake (like I did), but there was no mistake. According to the definition of live birth in Tennessee my son was not “alive enough” to be deemed a live born baby. His two minutes of life has gone unrecognized by my state, and I intend to change this piece of legislation so I can solidify the validity of my son’s short life.

Wednesdays for Wyatt was created to help spread awareness for a law that needs to be changed, as well as to generate more traffic to my petition. So if you’re reading this, thanks for taking the time to help our family!

We are currently up to 1,253 signatures. Hurray! We’ve made it over my initial goal of 1,000 signatures, and now I’m dreaming big! You think you can help me get 5,000 signatures by Thanksgiving? I bet you could, and I hope this Wednesdays for Wyatt helps out tremendously. Post this to your blogs, facebook, myspace... wherever you can think of. I can’t wait to see how many more signatures we receive from this. I have a great feeling!

The contest will only be open today. You have until 11:59 pm to post this on your blog and come back here to link up with MckLinky in order to qualify for this Wednesdays for Wyatt giveaway. Good luck everybody and thanks for participating.
