One corner of the office complete :)

Yesterday I showed you this bloggers awesome office walls.  Well, I really liked the affect she had going on, but that print wouldn't really go well on our walls. Plus, who am I kidding?  I definitely don't have the patience for that!  I really wanted to try it out though, so I did it on the sides of the "new" file cabinet!

I downloaded this from Emily's blog, traced it onto cardboard, then carefully cut it out.  I was really excited to try this out!
It was very easy to do!  Just a tiny bit of patience for this small area.  Thankfully MR.P was upstairs hanging out with me and kept me company.  He also snagged this picture while I wasn't paying attention.  Makes me feel loved when he appreciates the inexpensive projects I do :)

Here is the final look.  I outlined everything then went back over it again for a better affect.  One great thing about this print is that it didn't have to be perfect.  There are definitely a few imperfections, but I love it :)  You could also do this on a plain pillow and paint.  Something to think about :)  I used green chalk because I already had it.  We have a few other green accents in the office, that I'll reveal later.

I needed a place to keep the chalk so I used twine and tied the chalk to it.  I think it works out just fine :)

And now for the entire corner of our office!
We decided that the wrapping paper station wasn't really functional for us, so we moved our diplomas (GO DAWGS!!) to this corner.  I like this a lot more. Plus, I really do keep all my crafts and such in boxes, so having it out kind of stressed me out.  Moving the file cabinet also took care of too many cords in one spot.  Think outside the box sometimes and move things around.  Don't wait an entire year like I did ;)

Participating in DIY DAY!

Next, I might tackle this on the wall above the future dry erase boards in the office, but with pen instead of chalk.  This is a great way to have a "decal" look, but without spending the money.

(she is rediculously creative!)

On a quick side note.  I won a giveaway!!  I am soo excited!  Amanda over @ Wandering Thoughts of a Scientific Housewife had her 1 year giveaway.  She has lots of great info on make up and such so I definitely entered that one and won!  I am so excited and can't wait to get some new make up!  Thanks Amanda!

Turning a file cabinet into a chalkboard. What a crazy fun idea. I have an ugly file cabinet in my office too. You are definitely giving me some interesting ideas. Love the way you incorporated the design idea to your cabinet.
