What I Wore Wednesday

I am linking up to The Pleated poppy!
the pleated poppy blog

This week I've got 2 outfits for ya.  I haven't gotten the hang out taking pictures every single day.  So I guess you'll take what you can get ;)  Still need that full length mirror in my bathroom.  Then you'll be able to see my cute black and white tile.  Makes me smile when I see it every morning.

Tuesday - I wore this to work.  I was meeting a friend for coffee after work and thought I would still be comfortable.  Turns out I wasn't.  I had MR.P bring me some clothes ;)

Shirt - my friend Jenn gave this shirt to me.  It's really cute.  I could take the sweater off and be ready for a date night with MR.P!
Sweater - Ann Taylor Loft a few years ago.  It's held up well.  I have been impressed!
Jeans - Seven A pocket jeans.  My friend Jenn also gave me these.  Love them.  I probably wear them a little too often.
Shoes - Nine West outlet last year.  They are the perfect black shoe.  They are actually a round ballet shoe with a great wedge.  I wear them all the time in the fall and winter.

Wednesday - I wore this to work aslo!
Shirt - Target t-shirt.  looks and feels just like the j.crew ones.
Skirt - Target.  I got this last year.  I love the ruffles! They make any t-shirt look cute!
Belt - borrowed from my mom.  She wasn't using it so she let me have it for a while.
Shoes - Tori Burch - given to me by a friend

Alright. So I promised that I wouldn't buy any clothes or anything for our house this month. BUT, I was hoping y'all could help me out with this bathroom.  You've seen a few pics of it and it really needs some help.  If this was your bathroom, what would you do?  It needs to be on the cheap side of things.  I am definitely open to keeping the same color (sage green) and even doing a stencil.  But I need advice! HELP!

We made our guest bathroom look "done" by adding decorative guest towels and moving a picture into it. And we got one of those towel rings that hang and we put a nice complementary towel in it next to the sink so people can wash their hands AND it adds color and depth. We also have decorative soap dispensers and buy the big Target soap refilss for all our bathrooms. I am not crafty though so I have a good eye for decorating but it is usually by shifting stuff around or buying new inexpensive stuff. I can't create.

PS- love the clothes

I love both your outfits!!! As for the bathroom..what if you give it an 'earthy' feel. Fall is ocming you could make your own prints of leaves, maybe some candels with green sea glass from hobby lobby. Throw in some burt orange to pop the green. Just ideas!

I love that top in the first outfit. Really cute.

As far as guest bath advice, make sure all the necessities are out in the open and easy to find... like a basket on the counter with plenty of washcloths/hand towels as well as some clear glass containers filled with cotton balls and q-tips. I'm a big fan of white/off white towels for the guest bath since it doesn't get daily use and there is something clean and fresh (hotel?) about it. And grab a cheap frame and make some word art (like 'wash your hands' or a favorite saying) in a calming color scheme for the wall.

Also, do you have any shelves you can install? Target has some great ones that kind of just stick out and you could put some candles on there that you have lying around and such.

I think a great way to add a more custom look to your bathroom is to frame your existing mirror with decorative molding...inexpensive & easy way to make it your own. My husband & I did our bathroom mirrors in a day...instant gratification!

What I love most about this post is that you stand on the toilet to take the pics :) I always stand on the edge of our tub (sometimes in heels) to get a full-length view. My husband gets so irritated that I do this. . . .
